Lapid is planning to file a defamation suit against Rabbi Tovia Singer, who is known to work against missionaries and Jews who believe in Christianity after he suggested in the video that she held such beliefs and was a Messianic Jew.
Her lawyers reached out to Singer with a demand for 100,000 shekels in compensation, including deleting the video and publicly apologizing for the remarks, before the lawsuit is filed.
Lapid called Singer's video, which has been viewed over 30,000 times, "misleading" and a "baseless conspiracy."
