Shas leader Aryeh Deri said, "The party achieved a great accomplishment and it will soon return to the helm." Deri vowed to "help all the have-nots in society and to bolster all the Jewish character of our country and the rising cost of living." He stressed that the party "has once again proved that it is a strong party with deep and strong roots all over the country and I promise that we would continue to work hard for the benefit of all Israelis."
The many activists who flocked to the party headquarters in Jerusalem could be seen dancing and singing "Lieberman to the dumpster," referring to Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman, who had previously vowed to send "Haredi parties to the dumpster on a wheelbarrow."
