The Israel Police and Shin Bet security agency have launched an investigation. The suspicion is that the man used the break in the transpiration services during Rosh Hashanah to execute his plan and derail a train when operations resumed on Tuesday evening.
No casualties or damage were reported. The suspect, an Arab Israeli from the Galilee in his twenties, was taken in for questioning.
Forces are on high alert during the Jewish holidays which began on Sunday and will last until mid-October.
