The Bank of Israel announced on Monday an interest rate hike of .75%, bringing the rate to 2%, the sharpest rise in the last 20 years.

The new rate of 2% is the country's highest since December 2012.
Monday's interest rate increase follows a BOI decision in July to raise the interest rate to 1.25%, which was the highest it had been since August 2013.
