Arab news outlets reported that targeted included military outposts, an airport, and intelligence offices.
A Syrian military official reported that "At 00:32 Friday, Israel fired a volley from rockets from the Golan Heights at [military] outposts near Damascus. Air defenses were activated and intercepted most of the rockets. The strike killed three Syrian soldiers and wounded seven others."

Earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is aligned with opposition forces in Syria, reported that loud explosions had been heard in Damascus and also claimed that Israel had struck military positions while the country's air defenses were trying to intercept the rockets.
The Observatory later said that the strikes had targeted the headquarters of the Syrian military's air intelligence; the bureau of a high-ranking military official, and a vehicle near the Mezzeh Military Airport.
Additional reports said that rockets had landed near a security checkpoint at the airport as well as on an Iranian weapons storehouse near the village Sayyidah Zaynab, destroying it.
