Israeli fighter jets struck Gaza following terrorist rocket fire on southern Israel, which took place mere hours after US President Joe Biden left from Israel to Saudi Arabia on a Middle East trip aimed at deepening Israel's integration into the region.

One of the rockets was intercepted by aerial defenses and the other fell in an open area, the military said. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
None of the Palestinian terrorist groups in Gaza claimed responsibility for the rocket fire, which triggered sirens in the coastal city of Ashkelon and the surrounding area.

Posting footage from the strike on its Twitter account, the IDF said, "In response to attacks aimed at Israeli civilians, our fighter jets struck one of Hamas' most significant rocket production sites in Gaza. This strike will significantly impede Hamas' force-building capabilities. We will continue to defend Israeli civilians from Hamas' terrorism."
