During US President Joe Biden's visit to Israel, he and Prime Minister will sign a declaration titled "The Jerusalem Declaration on the US-Israel Strategic Partnership," which diplomatic officials are calling "historic."

According to the officials, the declaration – slated to be unveiled on Thursday – will underscore the US commitment to Israel's security in general and Iran never being able to develop nuclear weapons in particular. The declaration will also reportedly reconfirm a Memorandum of Understanding signed with former President Barack Obama that promised American military aid to Israel for 10 years.
However, the declaration does not include any discussion of steps toward Saudi-Israeli normalization that Biden is expected to announce during his Middle East visit, most likely when he arrives in Jeddah.
A diplomatic official told Israel Hayom that there was a "good chance we'll hammer out understandings about direct flights from Israel to Mecca for Muslim pilgrims, but the matter still isn't closed. A message about it might come out during Biden's visit to the region."
In addition, the declaration will include hints that the US will consider the use of military force against Iran to prevent the Tehran regime from acquiring nuclear weapons.
Various diplomatic officials characterized the declaration as "living proof of the depth and intimacy of the relations between the two countries… and a draft of Israeli-US relations for the next two years."
"When we were working with the Americans on the wording of the declaration, we sensed that it expressed an honest desire to embody both sides' shared values, culture, and interests," the officials said.
According to the unnamed officials, the US president's visit was the most important visit by a national leader to Israel and entailed lengthy preparation.
