Likud head Former PM Benjamin Netanyahu is unlikely to face challengers for the chairmanship and the party has reportedly approved his request to reserve five places on the slate for nominations of his choice – slots 14, 16, 28, 37, and 48.
The party is projected to win at least 36 Knesset seats.
Likud insiders told Israel Hayom that barring unexpected developments, Netanyahu is expected to give three of the five slots to rogue Yamina MKs Idit Silman and Amichai Chikli, and to Brig. Gen. (ret.) Gal Hirsch.
