According to the report, the explosion took place last week early Tuesday morning and was the result of sabotage.
It was unclear, however, whether the blast led to any casualties or caused damage.
Commenters on social media sites in the country published a video in which an explosion could be seen and heard. Other commenters said they heard the blast and saw large flashes.
Iranian officials have not addressed the report, although Telegram channels affiliated with the IRGC discussed the blast and even hinted it was the result of an Israeli operation.
Tensions between Iran and Israel have never been higher, while Tehran has renewed indirect talks with Washington on salvaging the 2015 Iran nuclear deal with world powers.
Israeli leaders have long threatened military action against Iran if they deem diplomacy a dead end for denying Tehran nuclear weaponry.
