According to Iran International, First Lieutenant Vahab Faramarzian reportedly died in Maragheh in Iran's East Azarbaijan province on Wednesday.
A funeral was held on Thursday.
In contrast to the obituaries for other officers and scientists in the Revolutionary Guards killed, Faramarzian's obituary did not eulogize him as a martyr.
Senior Iranian officials have yet to confirm or comment on his death.
Last week, Iranian news agencies reported that two scientists from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' Aerospace Force had been killed "in the course of duty."
Social media users were skeptical about the official versions of events, given a series of targeted killings of Iranian military commanders and scientists, some of which have been attributed to Israel.
Earlier this month, Iranian missile engineer Dr. Ayood Entezari died after allegedly being poisoned at a dinner party. In May, IRGC Col. Hassan Sayyad Khodaei was shot to death outside his home in the heart of Tehran.
