Israeli sales, distribution and marketing giant Diplomat Global on Thursday announced it has acquired controlling interest (51%) of frozen seasoning products manufacturer Dorothea, until now owned by Kibbutz Dorot in the Negev for NIS 76 million ($22 million). This is one of the biggest deals of its kind made in Israel in recent years.

Dorot is a leading player in the field of developing frozen vegetable and seasoning products. It operates mainly in the Israeli and American food markets, where its products are sold at more than 6,000 points of sale and are carried by retail giants such as Trader-Joe, WholeFoods, Walmart and Target. It also has a small but growing presence in a number of European countries.
Established in 1968, Diplomat's distribution base includes thousands of sales points, which will increase Dorot's sales in the retail and institutional market both in Israel and abroad.
