Speaking at Monday's weekly faction meeting, Defense Minister Benny Gantz praised the government's success in celebrating Jerusalem Day without incident, while retaining "the status quo and freedom of worship."

Gantz cited the threats from Palestinian terrorist groups and "radical Muslim rioters," but also noted that he had heard "nauseating" cries from a small group of Jewish troublemakers.
Gantz added that he thought the time was right to consider designating far-right fringe groups like La Familia, associated with violent fans of the Betar Jerusalem soccer team, and the anti-assimiliation group Lehava terrorist organizations.
Gantz said the issue was in the hands of Israel's security apparatus and he trusted them to make the right decision.
Foreign Minister and Alternate Prime Minister Yair Lapid said that the flag march on Sunday had been "tainted by extremists," referring to members of La Familia, who shouted anti-Arab slogans during the event.
