According to Variety magazine, the Israeli office will be part of Warner's Eastern Mediterranean endeavor, also covering Cyprus, Greece, and Turkey.
An industry giant, Warner Music Group is one of the "Big Three" – the largest recording companies in the US, and is the third-largest label in the global music industry, after Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment. Several top Israeli artists, including Noga Erez, Noa Kirel, and Stephane Legar, already call WMG their home.
According to Variety, Warner Music Israel "will locally market and promote artists from the WMG roster as well as local signings."
Mochiach is well-established in the Israeli music industry. In a statement cited by the magazine she said, "I'm honored to be able to open Warner Music Israel for business. Our country is full of unique and extraordinary talent, which we hope to propel onto the global stage. We hope to find many inspirational artists in Israel in the near future."
Alfonso Perez-Soto, president of emerging markets at Warner Recorded Music, said, "We hope to turn Warner Music Israel into a powerhouse full of local stars, and by offering artists the opportunity to tap into Warner Music's renowned global network, we aim to attract the country's most exciting talent."
