Increased security measures have been put in place at and around the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi, according to a report by the London-based Iran International site, which is aligned with the Iranian opposition.

According to the unverified Iran International report, the steps were taken due to concerns of a possible attack on the site by Iranian emissaries in the country.
Iran International quoted one Israeli official as saying the Indian police and anti-terrorism forces carried out maneuvers in the streets leading to the Israeli Embassy. Gunshots and explosions were also reported in the vicinity of the site. The streets surrounding the embassy have been outfitted with closed-circuit cameras and police are patrolling the area around the clock.
On Jan. 29, 2021, an explosive device was detonated next to the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi. Immediately after the explosion, Jerusalem pinned the attack on Iran, a claim that was later verified by Indian intelligence agencies. A letter was found at the site of the explosion claiming the bomb had been detonated to avenge the deaths of Revolutionary Guards commander Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, who were killed in a 2020 US drone strike, as well as the death of the head of the Iranian military nuclear program Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was assassinated in November 2020.
