Jews from across the world can tune into a live broadcast hosted by the Masa Israel Journey on May 3 to mark Israel's Memorial Day for Fallen Soldiers of Israel and Victims of Terrorism. Hundreds of thousands, from Ukraine to Morocco to the Philippines. are expected to participate.

The main ceremony will include stories of lone soldiers who fell while serving in the Israel Defense Forces and victims of terrorism from the Diaspora. The brother of lone soldier Eliyahu ("Eli") Kay, who was killed by a Hamas terrorist in the Old City of Jerusalem in November 2021, will light a memorial torch and the father of Staff Sgt. David Solomonov, who was hit by a sniper's bullet near the Lebanese border and killed in 2003, will recite Kaddish.
The annual event will be held at Yad L'Shiryon in Latrun and will be attended by Israeli lawmakers and representatives of the Jewish Agency. It will be translated into Hebrew, French and Russian and will be broadcast live to hundreds of thousands of Jews around the world, including Masa alumni and community members in Russia, Turkey, South Africa, USA, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina and more. In addition, thousands of Masa Fellows in Israel will gather to watch the ceremony in major cities across Israel.
In Latrun, approximately 5,000 Fellows in Masa programs in Israel will be present at the ceremony, as well as Diaspora Affairs Minister Nachman Shai, Acting Chairman of the Jewish Agency Yaakov Hagoel, Masa CEO Ofer Gutman, representatives of JFNA and Keren Hayesod, IDF officers, bereaved families, and senior officials from international Jewish organizations.
"This year's Yom Hazikaron ceremony comes at a time of tragedy and resilience for Israel and the global Jewish community," Gutman said. "During times like these, we take solace in being able to finally reunite with our community during this heartfelt memorial which will demonstrate the connectedness of the Jewish world through our shared stories. We are one people, and our strength comes from our unity."
