Israel will soon be facing a shortage of all models of iPhones, the iDigital website, which sells Apple products, said Monday.

According to iDigital, the reason for the expected shortage is an outbreak of COVID in the Chinese factories that produce the devices.
The site is allowing customers to pre-order iPhones, similar to policies in place when a new model is rolled out, so they can reserve a device.
The retailer plans to fill orders based on the order in which they are placed, as devices arrive. Customers who pre-order but later decide not to wait for the shipment will be able to cancel without paying any fees.
Eli Edri, CEO of the Dynamica mobile phone retail chain, said that for months, demand had been high, and supply was having a hard time meeting it. However, Edri said, the chain had prepared for busy times and was trying to ensure customers that it would be selling smartphones at "the best prices," even during the Passover holiday.
Edri said that Dynamica was Israel's top retailer for Apple and Samsung products, and therefore received larger shipments of those companies' devices than other chains.
The Machsanei Hashmal electronics chain, which also sells mobile devices, said it had no shortages of any iPhone devices in its stock, with the exception of the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max models.
The Shekem Electric branch at Ben-Gurion Airport's Duty Free zone said in response to the reports that it, too, had full stocks of iPhone models, except for the 13 Pro and Pro Max.
