Supermodel Gigi Hadid, who is famous not only for her runway walks but also for her vocal support for Palestine and criticism of Israel, took to social media over the weekend to condemn Thursday's terror attack in Tel Aviv, in which a Palestinian gunman killed three Israelis and injured about a dozen others.

"I would like to say that terrorism goes against the true message of the Free Palestine Movement. What happened in Tel Aviv is a tragedy, and is disappointing to Palestinians who want peace and fairness to all regardless of religion, race, or politics," she wrote in an Instagram story. "Innocent Israelis don't deserve to die. This does not help anything. It is not the answer. My condolences to the families of those who were killed."
Nevertheless, Hadid's attempt to condemn the attack backfired, when social media users pointed out that the anti-Israel messages she consistently shares with her over 73 million followers might be fueling such acts.
British-Israeli writer and public speaker Michael Dickson tweeted in response to Hadid's story, "Not so fast, Gigi Hadid. You continue to fuel the fire that leads to antisemitic attacks and terror. You have shared vicious lies designed to dehumanize Jews and Israelis to an audience way bigger than the amount of Jews that exist on planet Earth. You're part of the problem."
Hadid's father, real estate developed Mohamed Hadid, and younger sister, supermodel Bella Hadid, also frequently use social media to criticize Israel. The younger Hadid sister has not yet commented on the attack.
