The woman was arrested approximately a year ago.
The Foreign Ministry confirmed the report, saying it was familiar with the woman's case and was handling it through Israel's diplomatic mission to the UAE.
Under UAE law, drug traffickers can face the death penalty, especially if they are caught with large quantities of drugs. However, thus far, the UAE has never executed any drug trafficker, who are usually sentenced to decades-long prison terms.
According to Channel 12 News, the woman's defense attorney plans to appeal the sentence.
The report also said that in October 2021, an Israeli Bedouin man was arrested in the UAE in possession of a large quantity of cocaine. Reuters said that Emirati authorities caught the man with 500 kg. (1,100 lbs.) of cocaine worth some $136 million.
