They defeated Serbs Andrea Arsovic and Lazar Kovacevic 17 to 11 in the final event.
The two made it to the semifinals after coming in third in the preliminary round with a score of 629.6.
This was Richter's sixth time competing in the European Shooting Championships. He previously took home the gold in 2013 and in 2019. He has competed in three Olympic Games – the 2012 games in London, the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, and in Tokyo in 2020 – to date.
This was the first time Engler, who hopes to clinch a spot at the 2024 Paris Games, took home a medal at the European Shooting Championships.
