The demand for new apartments in Israel stood at 21,340 from November 2021 to January 2022, an increase of 24.3% compared to the previous three-month period (August-October 2021), the Central Bureau of Statistics reported Monday.

The number of new apartments sold in Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Jerusalem, Beer Yaakov, and Modi'in from November to January was up by 10.6% compared to the preceding three months and once seasonal fluctuation was accounted for.
The CBS data said that November 2021-January 2022 saw 16,440 sales of new apartments, 21.9% more than in the previous three months.
The same three-month period reported Monday also examined where in Israel the most apartments were being sold. Over one-quarter (26.6%) of the demand was for apartments in central Israel, with 20.5% of the demand for apartments in the Tel Aviv area. The Jerusalem district accounted for 9.6% of demand for new apartments, with the south seeing 16.2% of the demand and Haifa 11%.
Since July 2019, the demand for new apartments has risen by 1.5% per month, with 77% of demand comprising new apartments purchases by the general public and 23% new apartments under construction that have not been sold.
