The list includes 20 performers the prestigious magazine believes will "make their mark" in the coming year.
Describing Kirel, the magazine said, "This 20-year-old pop queen tells People she's 'all about embracing yourself, being an independent woman, owning what you got and working hard to achieve your dreams.'
"Her female empowerment inspiration comes from icons like Beyoncé, and Rosalía, 'They dance, they sing, they write, they do it all,' she says."
Kirel rose to fame as a teenager in 2015 and has since emerged as a sought-after singer, actress, and television host. Last week, she concluded her two-year service in the IDF, where she was part of the military entertainment troupe. The singer headed 150 shows before soldiers during her service.
Kirel won the MTV Europe Music Awards for best Israeli act for 2017. In June 2020, it was announced that she signed a contract with iconic American label Atlantic Records. In December of that year, Kirel signed with the Beverly Hills-based WME talent agency.
