The team defeated Turkey at the qualifying tournament held at Wingate Institute in Netanya with a score of 9:7.
The European Championship will begin on Aug. 27 at the Spaladium arena that will also host the national teams of Greece, Hungary, Italy, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, and Spain, who all qualified automatically thanks to their ranking in the previous 2020 European Championships held in Budapest.
Besides Israel, the Netherland, Georgia, Malta, Romania, and Slovakia have also qualified for the tournament. Two more countries will qualify later on Sunday.
Although this is the national men's team first time qualifying for the championship, the women's team has done so several times, and even participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics qualifiers, but did not make it to the games.
