Justice Minister Gideon Sa'ar on Monday tapped former Tel Aviv District Attorney for Civil Affairs Gali Baharav-Miara as the next attorney general, replacing Avichai Mendelblit, whose term comes to an end on Jan. 31.
Baharav-Miara's appointment is pending cabinet approval, which is expected next week. If confirmed she will become the first woman to serve as Israel's attorney general.
