In a potential 2024 rematch between Former United States President Donald Trump and current President Joe Biden, the Republican would lead by 5%, according to a survey by McLaughlin & Associates taken last week.

Data shows that 49% of polled would vote for Trump and 44% for Biden. In addition, of those who said they would support the former president, 37% said they would "definitely" do so, while of those who said they would vote for the current president, 35% said they would do so "definitely."
Meanwhile, public support for Biden has reached a new low in recent weeks. According to a Quinnipiac University poll, 33% of respondents said they supported the president, 53% said they did not, while the rest chose to refrain from commenting on the matter.
Quinnipiac polling analyst Tim Malloy blames the coronavirus as the main factor behind Biden's slide. Nevertheless, the poll stressed that both Republicans and Democrats (76% of poll participants) agree that internal political instability poses the biggest threat for the US.
