An earthquake measuring magnitude 3.7 rattled northern Israel on Sunday morning. The Center for Monitoring of Earthquake and Tsunami Areas in Turkey reported that a 4.2 magnitude at a depth of 7.6 kilometers hit Cyprus at the same time.

According to media reports, the seismological event was felt in Haifa, the Jordan Valley, Tiberias, Beit She'an and Afula.
The Israel Police reported getting hundreds of calls from concerned citizens. "No casualties and damage were reported," they said.
Professor Zohar Gvirtzman, who heads the Geological Survey of Israel, told Army Radio that the agency was closely monitoring seismic activity in the region.
