The man, a resident of Nof Hagalil in northern Israel, called the police emergency line overnight between Thursday and Friday and told the dispatcher he had murdered his wife, 28.
The first responders who arrived at the couple's home were forced to declare Barbur dead at the scene. Police noticed stab marks on her body, and the husband was arrested on the spot.
The couple's three-year-old son was at home, apparently sleeping, Israel Hayom has learned.
Police have opened an investigation into the murder, with one possible direction being that the suspect might have been enraged because he suspected Barbur was being unfaithful.
The Times of Israel reported that Barbur was pregnant.
