Leaders and public figures from around the world sent their condolences to President Isaac Herzog following the death of his mother, Aura Herzog, last week.

Among those to express their sympathies were Queen Elizabeth II of England, Morocco's King Mohammed VI, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Indian President Ram Nath Kovind, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Speaking with the president, Jordan's King Abdullah II offered his and his family's sincere condolences as the two discussed her public activity and legacy.
Queen Elizabeth II offered Herzog her support following his mother's death, while the Moroccan royal said he was sorry to hear of Herzog's mother's passing and expressed his and his family's condolences.
Steinmeier wrote: "We will remember Herzog fondly, in particular her tireless and vigorous work for the benefit of Israeli society. Your family can look back on Aura's long and gull life with pride, and the younger generations will see her as an example and a role model.
India's president expressed his and his family's condolences for Aura's death and said her public service was a model of dedication and investment.
On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Herzog to express his sympathies and offer his and his family's support following Aura's death. During their phone call, Erdogan said he understood the pain of losing a mother. He said he had heard wonderful things about Aura's work and the important social initiatives she led in her lifetime. "I believe you made her proud with your service to Israel's citizens," he said.
