A man who was shot on early Sunday afternoon near the Orient hotel in Jerusalem has succumbed to his wounds, according to a report by Channel 12 News. A second man, who was also shot, remains in moderate conditon.

The Jerusalem Police said in a statement it was "called to the scene and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation."
Preliminary reports indicate the incident was of criminal nature, and not a terrorist attack. The shooter seems to have fled the scene and is not among the injured. Altogether 11 bullets were found at the scene, suggesting that there might have been more than one perpetrator.
