"Fauda" is considered the most expensive drama series ever produced in Israel, but it appears that extras on the series are unpaid, Israel Hayom has learned.

The newspaper has obtained correspondence from the extras coordinator, who offers extras 50 shekels ($16) per day in reimbursement for travel expenses, without any extra earnings for the shoot.
In the messages, the coordinator tells someone inquiring about extra work on the "Fauda" set that "the job is unpaid, but we reimburse travel expenses up to 50 shekels a day. This is a huge set that includes work with actors and a really worthwhile experience."
In response to queries, the "Fauda" producers said that "the 'Fauda' filming sparks a lot of interest among the public, including the desire to take part in the production. The matter [of pay] will be checked and resolved by the time shooting starts, in a manner that honors everyone taking part in the shoot."
Rehearsals for the fourth season of the series are currently underway.
