Speaking to Israel Hayom, Hotovely said she was safe and expressed thanks to everyone who had helped her out.
"We won't give in to bullying and violence," Hotovely said. "Israel will send its representatives to every platform. The lecture was delivered in full, for an hour and a half, in front of 200 students who wanted to hear the Israeli story at one of the world's leading universities."
The Israeli Embassy in London stressed that at no point during the incident was Hotovely in danger and explained that Hotovely had been invited to appear at LSE. According to the embassy, the event resulted in an "in-depth and open" discussion. Outside the auditorium, the embassy said, a protest was organized by Palestinian and Islamic student groups, and the police were on site to ensure order.
