Gen. Esmail Ghaani, commander of the Quds Force – Iran's elite extraterritorial black-ops arm – arrived in the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Thursday, the Washington-based Iranian opposition group Farashgard said on its website.

According to the report, the purpose of Ghaani's visit is talks with Hezbollah, primarily on providing the terrorist group – Iran's largest proxy in the Middle East – with air defense systems, to enable it to counter Israeli airstrikes on Iranian and Hezbollah assets in is Syria.
Mounting such strikes requires the IAF to infringe on Lebanese airspace.
