According to a report in the Politis daily, the two, ages 25 and 32, are Pakistani natives living in Cyprus. They were arrested on Friday in Limassol, a city on the southern coast of Cyprus, over their alleged involvement in an assassination plot discovered by local authorities earlier in October.
The suspects were arraigned on Saturday and remanded to police custody for eight days, the report said.
Politis noted that authorities believe that the suspects were working in consultation with the Azeri national who was arrested in late September for allegedly planning an attack against Israelis in Cyprus.
Both were said to be found with photos of potential targets on their phones and were allegedly involved in surveillance of certain sites.
The prime suspect in the case was arrested in late September on suspicion of planning an attack against Israeli businessman operating in Cyprus. A second suspect, also a Pakistani national, was arrested a few days later.
Reports have indicated that the Whiteman were targeting Israeli businessman Teddy Sagi, a claim which he has denied.
