Opposition Leader Benjamin Netanyahu warned on Thursday that the current government's policy on Iran was dangerous because it has reportedly agreed not to take unilateral action to stifle Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons without US consent.

"I lose sleep over this," Netanyahu told the audience at a conference organized by the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel. Netanyahu is a leading proponent of the "maximum pressure" campaign that the Trump administration adopted against Tehran. The current US administration has sought to restore the nuclear deal from 2015, but Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, according to a recent article by CNN, has changed Israel's tone and has shied away from actively campaigning against the deal, agreeing to a policy of "no surprises" with the administration.
"Iran will now have an open path to get a nuclear arsenal with dozens of bombs aimed at our state, and this threatens our children's future. This is because this government is capitulating to international dictates, and it has promised not to take out Iran's nuclear program without US approval," Netanyahu warned. "This government is making Iran's massive nuclear enrichment capabilities legitimate."
"Over the past decade, we [the Likud] turned Israel into a growing global force. Not just because of the roads and trains and tunnels, but in every aspect. We made Israel into a major entity, a cyber powerhouse."
