The reproduction rate has increased 13% over the last month and now stands at 0.79.

There are 17,803 active cases of the virus. There are 372 people in serious condition, 162 of whom are on ventilators.

Although 1,290,873 have recovered from the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic, 7,999 have died.

On the vaccination front, 3,845,992 Israelis have received all three available doses of the coronavirus vaccine. While at least 6,204,916 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine, 5,700,999 have received two doses.

In a meeting between Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in Jerusalem Monday, the senior diplomatic officials agreed both countries would recognize the others' vaccination certificates.

Starting Thursday, Israel's national healthcare providers will be able to inoculate members with UK-Swedish drugmaker AstraZeneca's vaccine. According to a Health Ministry statement, the vaccine has been authorized for use among adults aged 18 and in accordance with their physicians' recommendations. In particular, the vaccine will be used on individuals who are unable to receive a vaccine, such as that of Pfizer or Moderna, which uses mRNA technology.

New research from the Maagar Mochot institute indicates a majority of Israelis polled, 65%, believe local authorities should be tasked with managing the school policies on the coronavirus pandemic.

Modi'in Mayor and Federation of Local Authorities head Haim Bibas said the poll "proves the local government is the most stable government in the State of Israel, and we see this in citizens' expression of trust in mayors."
