Prime Minister Naftali Bennett talked with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday to discuss a range of issues.

In a statement issued on Bennett's Twitter feed, the prime minister said he "spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and congratulated him on his birthday today." The tweet also said the two "also discussed various regional matters regarding security and diplomacy."
Israeli media outlet Kann reported Wednesday that a summit between the two leaders was already in the works and could take place later this month.
In recent days Iran has accused Azerbaijan of being too friendly with Israel when it comes to military cooperation and has warned that it won't tolerate Zionist presence on its border.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian even said that Iran had "serious concerns" about "changes to borders in the Caucuses" during a meeting with his Russian counterpart. Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry dismissed those allegations.
