Mivne Group and the Haifa Economic Corporation laid the cornerstone for the Haifa Science and high-tech Park (the Haifa Life Sciences Park). The unique project will include two office and laboratory buildings out of five planned buildings, following the first building, which was occupied last year. The two buildings, constituting stage 2 of the project, are eight floors tall and contain about 14,000 sq.m. of above-ground space each, and another 3 floors of shared underground parking space totaling about 24,000 sq.m.
The buildings, to be built entirely according to green building principles, will include infrastructure for labs and shafts for fume hoods. The green roof level will have the infrastructure for an active roof, with kitchens, pergolas, and sitting corners, community gardens and a social event venue.
The ground floor is planned to include infrastructure for restaurants and cafés that will serve workers of the high-tech and biotech companies currently located on the premises of the park and its surroundings. Advanced, friendly environmental development is also planned, such as an ecological pool, special outdoor gym equipment, and more.
The cornerstone-laying ceremony was attended by Haifa Mayor Einat Kalisch-Rotem, Acting Mayor Nahshon Tzuk, Atty. David Etzioni – Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Economic Corporation, Haifa Municipality CEO Ohad Segev, Mivne Group CEO Dudu Zvida, Mivne VP of Marketing Yael Peri, VP Engineering Yoram Gat, VP Finances Yosi Filiba, CEO of the Haifa Economic Corporation Or Shahaf, the Corporation's board members and workers, and Architect Moshe Tzur, the project's head planner.
Mivne CEO Dudu Zvida : "I'm proud to take part in the development of the Haifa Science and high-tech Park, which will be home to international high-tech and biomedicine companies. The park is the product of a close and successful partnership between Mivne and the Haifa Economic Corporation."
Mivne holds more than 1.6 million sq.m. in properties throughout the country, with many other projects currently under construction. "This is a unique and prominent project in the region and is one of the group's flagship projects in the country," added Zvida. "We see ourselves as leading the way in planning the park, by providing all the special conditions for maximizing comfort, alongside dynamic and flexible planning that fulfills all the planning needs and supplies individual solutions to each company renting offices in the park."
Zvida noted that "after completion of the first stage and reaching full occupancy, the company is eagerly looking forward to continued success in stage 2 and the opportunities the park will offer Haifa and its residents. In the course of 2023, 2 new buildings will be added to the park, connected via shared spaces. They could also be connected to the first building via a bridge, creating a whole, harmonious compound."
