The Hamas terrorist organization harshly criticized Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas Saturday for his address at the United Nations General Assembly.

In a pre-recorded speech on Friday, Abbas claimed that the Palestinian elections – which were supposed to be held in May – were postponed because Arab residents of east Jerusalem were not allowed to participate.
Hamas, in turn, called the statement untrue and claimed Abbas not only postponed, but deliberately canceled the elections, and is now pushing for a vote adapted to Fatah, the political party he leads.
To that end, the terror group has recently announced that it was boycotting the elections and called for general vote instead.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum called Abbas' remarks at the General Assembly "a clear testament to the incompetence and inability to achieve any success through the Oslo process," and condemned his support for an international peace conference and a two-state solution.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Defense Minister Benny Gantz also criticized the Palestinian leader's speech, in which he treatened to reverse the PA's recognition of the 1967 borders and press charges against Israel in the International Criminal Court unless the country withdrew from the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem within one year.
