Initial reports suggest the stab victims sustained moderate wounds. Several shock victims were reported as well.
A senior medic recalled the hectic scene: "When we arrived in the area there was a large commotion. The two stab victims were lying conscious on the floor, and we proceeded to give them medical care by bandaging them and stopping the bleeding and then evacuated them to the hospital with moderate wounds."
The attacker is a 17-year-old Palestinian from the Hebron area south of the capital, various media outlets reported. According to Israel Police, he had entered a shop on the street and then stabbed the two employees there. A Border Police patrol that happened to be nearby quickly intervened, with a policewoman neutralizing him.
