According to a senior Israeli official, Eyal Hulata traveled to Egypt with outgoing NSC head Meir Ben-Shabbat for talks focused mainly on the fragile Egyptian-brokered ceasefire that brought an end to the Israel Defense Force's Operation Guardian of the Walls in the Gaza Strip in May.
This was the first such meeting to be held since a new coalition government took office in June.
