The Nazareth District Court on Tuesday handed down a dramatic decision in a murder case that has been making headlines for 15 years, ruling that Roman Zadorov, convicted in the 2006 murder of 13-year-old Tair Rada, be released to house arrest pending a retrial.

The state said it would appeal the ruling and Zadorov is expected to remain in prison while the appeal is heard.
For over a decade, Zadorov has argued that he was innocent of the murder, the investigation of which has been panned for a slew of forensic blunders. The Supreme Court finally ordered a retrial for Zadorov in May, after new evidence emerged in the case.
