An American Airlines passenger aircraft landed safely at Ben-Gurion Airport Monday afternoon after reporting a puncture in its right front wheel.

Following the report, the airport declared a Level 2 state of emergency.
An Israeli Air Force jet was scrambled to accompany the Boeing 777 aircraft, which departed Miami with 183 passengers on board, on its descent into Tel Aviv. Magen David Adom teams and ambulances were at the ready in case the plane was forced to execute a crash landing.
