Israeli foodtech startup Triple W, a portfolio compnay of the Millennium Food-Tech Public R&D Partnership, has been awarded a 2.2 million euro grant from the European Union, the company announced Tuesday.

Triple W's technology produces lactic acid derived from food waste for use in a variety of products.
The grant is provided as part of the Bio-based Industries Joint Undertaking program, which is a joint program of the European Union and a consortium of companies from the bio-based industries (industries based on products and / or environmental processes).
