The Jewish Agency on Sunday is currently finalizing the list of candidates to replace outgoing chairman Isaac Herzog, who will assume the mantle of Israel's presidency on July 7.

The leading candidate appears to be former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon. Maj. Gen. (ret.) Elazar Stern, who currently heads the Intelligence Services Ministry appears to also be a favorite.
Other candidates include former Blue and White MK Omer Yankelevich, former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Ron Prosor, Committee for Higher Education official Professor Yaffa Zilbershats, former Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz, former Military Intelligence Director Maj. Gen. (ret.) Amos Yadlin, former Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, and former Blue and White MK Michal Cotler-Wunsh.
World Zionist Organization Chairman Yaakov Hagoel is slated to head the Jewish Agency's nominations committee, which will include 10 members.
