Thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square on Sunday night, to celebrate the swearing-in of Israel's new government.

Revelers waved flags, cheered, fired foam cannons, and popped open bottles of champagne following the narrow 60-59 vote that confirmed the new government, headed by Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and Prime Minister-designate and Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.
Several groups that called for former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ouster, including the so-called group of Black Flag protesters that coalesced in March 2020 following the premier's coalition deal with Blue and White party head Benny Gantz, who will remain defense minister in the new government, were also in attendance.
"Bibi, go home," anti-Netanyahu demonstrators shouted, referring to Netanyahu by his nickname. Celebrations also broke out in Jerusalem, although there, they were offset by those showing support for Netanyahu.

As the leaders of the new government took the podium in the Knesset, pro-Netanyahu and ultra-Orthodox lawmakers voiced their disdain, shouting "Shame!" and "Liar!" Some unruly lawmakers had to be escorted out of the plenum.
Supporters greeted Netanyahu at the Prime Minister's Residence on Jerusalem's Balfour Street to express their adoration, cheering: "Bibi, King of Israel."
