The ongoing efforts to hold a flag march in Jerusalem, despite the initial decision to cancel it, has led to terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip to warn Tuesday that they are "keeping an eye on what is the events in occupied east Jerusalem."

According to a statement published just before the government was to deliberate on whether to allow a scaled-down march to take place, the terrorists said: "We warn the Zionist occupation army not to repeat the events that took place before Sword of Jerusalem [Operation Guardian of the Walls] and the violent clashes that occurred in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
They called on their "brethren in the West Bank and East Jerusalem to continue to confront the security forces of the Zionist occupation."
According to Palestinian media, Arabs were called upon to hold a parade at 5 p.m. on Thursday, from Damascus Gate in the Arab Quarter of the Old City to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where the original route of the flag march was to take place before it had been canceled.
The Israel Police on Monday pulled the permit given to the annual flag parade in the capital, citing safety concerns and saying that they will not approve the current path suggested for the march. The police stressed that they would revisit the issue if the route was changed.
