The main issues are broken glass, shutters and windows that need replacing, damage to aluminum parts, wall plastering and painting, and flooring and sealing repairs following rocket hits.
According to Eran Siv, chairman of the Renovation Contractors' Union, "Nearly 70% of the hits are relatively minor. The damage was caused mostly by shrapnel and shock waves hundreds of meters from the point of impact."

Siv noted that in the case of direct hits, the damaged building can be demolished and built from scratch, or massively renovated, which can take longer – a year or even more. He estimates that without the Iron Dome system, damage to buildings would have been at least four times worse.
