Five years after the The European Beth Din was effectively put on hold, Europe's Jewish communities will have a rabbinical court that could provide services on divorce and various intra-Jewish disagreements, as well as oversee conversion and adoption issues.

The decision was announced by the Conference of European Rabbis earlier this week in an effort to reduce dependency on Israeli rabbinical authorities.
The president of the conference, Moscow Chief Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt said: "We are pleased to announce this court is being reinstated. This will serve as a home for Jewish communities and a holistic center that would address the whole gamut of issues that they have been dealing with."
Dayan Menachem Gelley from London's rabbinical court said: "This will avoid damage done when various rabbis arrive in Europe from Israel just in order to carry out snap conversations – at times just for money – without understanding the complexities of the lives here in Europe."
