Jewish Agency Chairman Isaac Herzog on Wednesday announced that he would be vying in Israel's upcoming presidential election, set to take place on June 2.

Herzog, who previously led the Labor party and served in the Knesset for 15 years, is the son of Chaim Herzog, Israel's sixth president, who served from 1983 to 1993.
Current presidential hopefuls include former Knesset members Yehudah Glick, Michael Bar-Zohar, and Shimon Sheetrit.
