Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that Israel's resolve in the operation against Hamas, which is in its second week, will not be lost on its adversaries.
"I am confident that all our enemies around us have noticed the price we have exacted on the aggression against us," Netanyahu said following a meeting with senior Israel Defense Forces officials in the Southern Command and a tour of a nearby Israeli Air Force base.

Operation Guardian of the Walls was launched 9 days ago after Hamas fired rockets on Jerusalem and created other provocations within Israel in an attempt to force Israel into making concessions surrounding the Temple Mount and on other matters. The past several days have seen Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad engage in repeated rocket fire against Israeli population centers, with Israeli forces hitting back on terrorist targets, including Hamas' large underground tunnel network.
Netanyahu said that he has been briefed on the many developments surrounding the operations and on "the blows Hamas and PIJ have been dealt; blows they had not expected." Netanyahu added that Israel "has undoubtedly set their capabilities back many years."
"We will continue with this operation as long as it takes to restore the calm to all Israeli citizens," Netanyahu said. "I am sure our enemies will learn the necessary lessons from this," he said.
