Three Israeli police officers were injured Tuesday during clashes with Israeli Arabs in Lod in the wake of the recent escalations.
Police presence was increased following the incident and according to footage from the area at least one police car was set ablaze in the unrest. Police had to resort to flash bombs after Arab youth started hurling rocks at them.
The clashes erupted during the funeral procession for an Arab resident who was killed during a confrontation with Jews on Monday night in the mixed city.
Two Jews were arrested for suspected involvement in a shooting that killed one and wounded two others near the site of riots in the mixed Jewish-Arab city on Monday. Their arrest led to another protest Tuesday, this time from Jewish residents who picketed the court where the two were arraigned.
